and he died on 23 November 1990
He was a British novelist, short story writer
and screenwriter, born in Wales of Norwegian parents.

often very dark humour. Some of his most
popular books include The Twits,
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
James and the Giant Peach, Matilda,
The Witches and The BFG.

Devious dahl Roald Dahl's story "The Devious Bachelor"

He spoke Norwegian at home with his parents
and sisters. Dahl and his sisters were christened
at the Norwegian Church, Cardiff,

~Woman Seated at a Table by a Window~

kitchen table

As I sit at my kitchen table,
I gaze out upon the garden.
Peace fills my soul.
The warm breeze blows softly in my face.
The air filled with the smells
and delights of spring.
God's beauty has once again
refreshed my innermost parts.

The loveliness of the morning,
the freshness of spring,
the kindness of the warming sun,
all drawing our eyes once again
to our Creator.

door mythen, sprookjes, legendes en mystiek en
geschiedenis, culturen,

Geboren in Seattle, Washington, groeide ze op in

In equal parts the blood of Wales, Ireland,
Sweden and the Pawnee nations flows in her veins.
Helena attended the American Academy of Art
for two years studying architectural rendering,
lettering, and life drawing.
She has no fine art training, considers herself
self taught, and has no affiliations in the art world.
Technique and subject matter emerge
from life experience, vision, dream,
and an innate love of creating.

She prefers natural surroundings and the
company of animals to that of most people,
craves the wild beauty of lonely rocky shorelines,
mountains, rivers, lush forests and wide open plains.

Native American en de Keltische cultuur,
spiritualiteit en mythe. Over haar beelden, zegt ze:
"Ik ben een gewoon mens. Mijn beelden communiceren
met een persoonlijke interpretatie van archetype,
droom, en levenservaring. Het vloeit voort uit het hart,
vaak creëren ze zich bijna zelf als ik ernaar kijk”

PerfectMoment

"Perfect Moment"

I hold a Perfect Moment,
treasured deep within my heart.

And so I keep you close to me
though fate keeps us apart.

A few dark nights, a tiny space,
all white and fairy lit

Became the safest place of all,
your arms the warmth in it.

The whisper of your breath as
it entangled in my hair.

Was the only way to tell each other
just how much we care.

I see you in my dreams and
it's my armour against time.

But I hold this Perfect Moment.
Just one moment you were mine.

Kate's Castle

This is the castle that Kate built, and in it can be
found the dreams of every child who
has ever spent a sandy, sun-filled day at the beach.

The Huron Carol

"' Twas in the moon of wintertime when
all the birds had fled ..."
So begins Canada's most beautiful Christmas carol.
Its writer, Jean de Brebeuf (1593-1649), was a
Jesuit missionary who lived and worked among the
Huron Indians for twenty-two years.
Although Father de Brebeuf was killed during an
Iroquois raid, the carol was kept alive in
the Huron language for over one hundred years
before it was translated into French.
The English words were written in 1926 by J.E. Middleton.

~Bella`s lullaby~

GW348H252
Life was like a moonless night
Shrouded in the stars
Beauty can be such a fright
But now you're in my arms

You are my life now
Can't you see
I'd cross oceans
I'd swim seas
To be with you
That's enough for me.

Your face is like a poison
Intoxicating me
How can we live forever
When our love can never be.

“It has been one long joyous road along which
troop delightful children, happy children,
sad children, thoughtful children, and
above all wondering, imaginative children,
who give to their charmingly original thoughts
a delicious quaintness of expression. I love to paint them all.”

Ook in de Verenigde Staten wordt elk jaar
een Kinderboekenweek gehouden.
De ‘Official Poster’ van dit jaar is van Ian Falconer.
De posters die elk jaar door een andere

bijzonder fraai. In 1994 verscheen

populaire illustrator ingehuurd.
