The Real Alice In Wonderland - 25 Pictures
Before Alice ever set foot in Wonderland,
there was Alice Liddell, the 10-year-old friend
of an eccentric, stuttering lecturer in mathematics
who would later find fame as a writer, under
the name Lewis Carroll.

~Sunday Poem
-
EVER seek to tell thy love, - Love that never told can be;
- For the gentle wind doth move
- Silently, invisibly.
-
- I told my love, I told my love,
- I told her all my heart,
- Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears.
- Ah! she did depart!
-
- Soon after she was gone from me,
- A traveller came by,
- Silently, invisibly:
- He took her with a sigh.

~Margaret Evans Price
.
Margaret Evans Price 1888-1973 was a
children's book illustrator and author.
She was born in Chicago, but her family soon
moved to Nova Scotia and then settled
on the east coast, Massachusetts and later
New York. It is interesting that her talents were
discovered early. Her first illustrated story was
sold to the Boston Journal when she was just 12.
Her studies took her to the Boston Academy
of Fine Arts and Paris.
.
.
Another interesting point in the life of Price,
is that she was married to Irving Price who was
the cofounder of Fisher Price Toy Company
along with Herman Fisher.
